Google going to Introduce Google Chrome Operating System

Google Chrome OS is a project by Google to develop a light computer operating system devoted to using the World Wide Web. Announced on July 7, 2009, it is based on Google's Chrome web browser and the Linux kernel. It will initially be targeted at netbooks, and is set to be released during the second half of 2010. It will run on systems with either x86 or ARM processors.

Google Chrome OS is an open source project and will be available to use at no cost.

The Google Chrome OS team is currently working with a number of technology companies to design and build devices that deliver an extraordinary end user experience. Among others, these companies include Acer, Adobe, ASUS, Freescale, Hewlett-Packard, Lenovo, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba.
